Do I need Claude for Excel?

Yes. ClaudeVBA is designed to work with the official Claude for Excel sidebar via a custom connector. You need a Claude plan that includes Claude for Excel (Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise).

Do I need a terminal or Cloudflare Tunnel?

No. Install the desktop app, activate your purchase, and connect Claude from the app.

Does this modify VBA while Excel has the file open?

Deploy writes to the file on disk. Save and close the workbook before deploy, then reopen — the guide walks you through it.

Is my workbook data sent to ClaudeVBA servers?

Workbook access happens on your machine. ClaudeVBA’s cloud service verifies purchases and activation, but does not store your spreadsheets. Content you ask Claude to inspect is subject to Anthropic’s privacy policy.

Mac or Windows only?

Both. The VBA engine is file-based and works cross-platform.
