VBA has full machine power once it runs. ClaudeVBA assumes that from day one: allowlisted folders, secure activation, staging copies, audit log, and a hard confirm before deploy.
Only workbooks under folders you configure can be touched.
High-risk APIs stay blocked unless you explicitly allow them.
Every staging write creates a backup you can restore.

FAQ
Yes. ClaudeVBA is designed to work with the official Claude for Excel sidebar via a custom connector. Pro and Max users can generally add it themselves. Team and Enterprise workspaces may require an owner or admin to allow and configure the connector.
No. Install the desktop app, activate your purchase, and connect Claude from the app.
For normal edits, keep the saved local workbook open. Companion uses Excel automation to apply reviewed VBA live and save it without closing the workbook. If automation is unavailable and Excel locks the file, Companion reports that limitation and may ask you to close the workbook once before a file-based deploy.
ClaudeVBA does not persist workbook files or VBA source in its cloud service. Content requested by Claude passes through the ClaudeVBA relay and Anthropic for processing. See the data-handling page for details.
